Attorney Profile - Kevin Gonzalez

Kevin Gonzalez Attorney Kevin Gonzalez is a native of Columbus, Georgia. He attended Tulane University and earned a bachelor of science in management degree, with honors, in 1994. Having completed his undergraduate studies, he moved to Athens Georgia, to attend the University of Georgia School of Law. While in law school, Kevin Gonzalez distinguished himself by excelling in courtroom advocacy, participating on numerous mock trial competition teams that earned him both statewide and national recognition. He was selected to be a member of the Joseph Henry Lumpkin Inn of Court and, when he graduated in 1997, was inducted as a national member into the Order of Barristers, an organization dedicated to superiority in trial advocacy. Since graduating from law school, Kevin Gonzalez has coached several successful University of Georgia mock trial teams.

Upon completing the University of Georgia School of Law, Kevin Gonzalez became an associate at the law firm of Garcia & Powell where he specialized in personal injury and domestic relations cases. In July of 2000, he left the firm to enter public service as the Chief Assistant Solicitor-General of Athens-Clarke County. In that position he served as a criminal prosecutor and his responsibilities included not only representing the State of Georgia in criminal cases but also the training and supervision of the other prosecutors who worked in his office. Kevin Gonzalez held the position of Chief Assistant Solicitor-General until Janaury of 2007, when he left to form the law firm of Slider & Gonzalez, LLC.

Kevin Gonzalez has a wide range of legal experience gained from working in both the public and private sector. He is known and respected by judges, attorneys, and prosecutors throughout northeast Georgia and has developed positive relationships with members of the law enforcement community as well as civic leaders. His knowledge of the inner workings of the justice system as well as his skills in courtroom presentation assist him in working to obtain the best possible results for his clients.

Kevin Gonzalez is a member of the State Bar, the Western Circuit Bar Association, and the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He is admitted to practice in all State and Superior Courts in Georgia as well as the Georgia Court of Appeals and Georgia Supreme Court. In addition, he is admitted to practice in the Federal Courts in the Northern and Middle districts.
